I thought the block reward was 16XTZ + tx fees in that block. If that is the case, why am I seeing huge rewards on some of these bakers? (http://tzscan.io/tz1NortRftucvAkD1J58L32EhSVrQEWJCEnB?default=rewards, http://tzscan.io/tz3WMqdzXqRWXwyvj5Hp2H7QEepaUuS7vd9K?default=rewards)
Staking generates rewards from 3 primary areas: Baking a block - 16xtz, Endorsing a block = 2xtz and transaction fees in the block. Since there are 32 endorsement slots for each block, each block is worth 32*2 + 16 + fees. ~80xtz.
Bakers have many more endorsement slots than baking slots, and endorsing ends up being a higher reward than baking most cycles.
Big bakers like ours (Tezos.community) have hundreds of baking slots and thousands of endorsing slots each cycle, hence the high level of rewards.
